HELENA - The Bureau of Land Management plans to auction 30 to 40 wild horses and 10 wild burros at the fairgrounds here on June 16.The BLM auctions wild horses and burros captured on federal lands in the West. An estimated 32,000 wild horses live on rangeland that can support only about 28,000 animals.Jared Bybee, a rangeland management specialist for the BLM, said the minimum bid is $125 per animal, and the price tag increases from there."It all depends on the market where the adoption is- some go for $125, some for $800," Bybee said. .

April 18 (Bloomberg) -- Bolivia plans to sell tin from a plant seized two months ago from Swiss commodity trader Glencore International AG as the metal trades at the highest in at least 18 years. The country is offering a prospectus for the sale, Katherine Alvarez, a spokeswoman for state miner Comibol, said in a telephone interview yesterday from La Paz. The smelter is eighth-largest in the world by production, according to the St. Albans, U.K.-based International Tin Research Institute. The planned auction ``could make a difference in the world market,'' said Peter Kettle, ITRI manager for statistics and market studies. Most of Vinto's metal, which has a low lead content, was exported to the U.S. during Glencore's ownership, he said. President Evo Morales's government seized the smelter from Baar, Switzerland-based Glencore as part of a drive to control a greater share of the Andean country's mineral wealth.

The money raised from today's auction will go to the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force. The organization which - spends approximately $5,000 every two weeks on food under normal circumstances - lost all of its food in the flood caused by the storm. "We consider Mamaroneck a second home because of all the time we spend at Acme Recording Studios for our Peak Performances," said The Peak's program director Chris Herrmann in a statement. "The dichotomy of life styles has been made very clear through the recent storm which wiped out the community food bank that those whose homes were flooded relied on for support.
