Proxibid Breaks Live-Auction Records in March

Proxibid announced it broadcast 350 live auctions during the month of March, a new record for the company, and signed on an unprecedented number of new clients. Proxibid Inc. is a pioneer of live Internet bidding technology with a client list of more than 800 auctioneer house customers. The company said the number of online bidders on Proxibid in March also reached a record high.

Proxibid's live bidding service is connected to an auction portal where auction companies can post their catalog for bidders to browse and search. The technology integrates seamlessly with the live auctions, allowing bidders to see, hear and participate in the auctions from the comfort of their home or office via the Internet.

Proxibid client Ken Jackson, CAI, of The Auction Marketplace said, "We have realized an additional 40% gross revenue when we conduct live auctions with Proxibid versus revenues realized during a traditional auction."

Proxibid client categories include antiques and collectibles, farm equipment, heavy machinery and real estate.


Sotheby's Hubbard Gavels In 30

After 30 years at Sotheby's, Lisa Hubbard has come to a personal epiphany: "My taste surpasses my buying power."

The chairman of Sotheby's jewelry department is well known in the auction and jewelry worlds, having started as a cataloguer in the jewelry department and later becoming an auctioneer. Hubbard presided over the auctions of the property of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Ava Gardner, to name a few. A native of Los Angeles who resides in New York, she was also the architect of the first specialized sale of fine jadeite jewels in Hong Kong in November 1985. .


Chali-Rosso Art Gallery: "From the HeART" Art Auction at Hycroft ...

The auction is hosted by the Chali-Rosso Art Gallery and Auctions in Motion. A percentage of each piece of art sold will be designated to the charity of choice by the purchaser. The auction will offer original graphic works from world-renowned European masters and a variety of works from BC artists.

The show organizers have launched similar events in Europe in previous years. In 2006, the Vancouver auction sold over 60% of works. Show hosts anticipate 75% of the art will be sold this year.

The Chali-Rosso Gallery is located on South Granville. The gallery specializes in European original lithographs and etchings by such masters as Rembrandt, Picasso, Miro, Dali, Chagall and Matisse. They are the only gallery in Canada offering these artists as a group. Owner, Susanna comments, "We are offering a unique opportunity to donors and charities.


Kaminski Fine Art Weekend a Smashing Success

(openPR) - (Beverly, MA) - Kaminski Auction's Spring Fine Art Weekend was an outstanding success. This first time event, held in the ballroom of the Sheraton Colonial Hotel in Wakefield, attracted crowds of enthusiastic collectors who enjoyed a weekend of excitement and entertainment. Kaminski Fine Art Director, John Raimo, offered a collection of paintings and fine prints that generated both enthusiasm and strong prices, with sales totaling $331,500. Day two featured an elegant Fine Arts Salon that developed considerable pre and post-sale interest. This unique combination of tradition and elegance organized by Diane Gage, special events liaison for Kaminski Auctions, concluded the stunning weekend. Several pieces underscored the success of the auction. Of particular note was "Young Woman with Basket of Fruit," by noted French Expressionist painter Jules Pascin.
